I have a cold!

I was at the office today and I received a call from a good patient. She said, “Doc I have a cold. A really bad cold.  I’ll call you back as soon as I get over the cold.”

So from time to time we get calls from patients notifying us that they are either too sick to keep their appointment or fearful that their presence in our practice would needlessly expose us to their germs.

I probably have not explained that GERMS aren’t the problem to you, so let me do that in this handout.

Before you get the wrong idea, let me correct some serious misconceptions! If you’re sick, you probably have subluxations, disc lesions, and misalignments in your spine. Those are all the same, just different words to describe the same thing. Like saying car, auto, vehicle, automobile, my ride, etc.

So anyone who’s sick could benefit from a chiropractic adjustment. What I’m saying is, try to keep your appointment. It’s likely to help your recovery. You may not feel great after the adjustment, but you’ll be better inside and you’ll have a speedier recovery.

FACT: If we were to somehow “catch” everything that our patients had, we’d be sick all the time. Have you ever thought about that? But I am not always sick. In fact I hardly ever get sick, and when I do, it’s because I’ve stayed up too late, too many nights in a row, got stressed out with something, over did on something, or ate the wrong foods.

The reason I don’t get sick very often is I do things to keep my immune system strong and healthy. Among them is getting regular chiropractic adjustments. I appreciate your concern about spreading germs, but we’d rather you came in anyway.
