A Message from Dc Raymond Lai

At 17, I discovered that failure wasn’t one of the worst experiences a human being could go through. It was the experience of helplessness—the feeling of being bound by barriers you cannot overcome, no matter how much effort you put in.

I was suffering from excruciating shoulder pain, persistent soreness in my lower back, and an unbearable, numbing pain in both my legs. I was unable to stand upright or walk for long, and even getting up from the toilet took ages.
I wasn’t sure if I was 71 or 17.

When I finally saw my X-rays, it felt as though my world was falling apart. I was clinically diagnosed with scoliosis. I sought all kinds of care, travelled to different places, and met various healthcare providers, hoping to find an answer.
Yet, there wasn’t one.

In a moment of clarity, I decided then I was going to become the doctor, the healer, the therapist the 17 year old me needed. For those who have given up looking for an answer.

My legacy is to empower people to live healthier, freely, and with longevity.
To serve. To make a difference, no matter how big or small, in people’s lives.
