Back Pain anyone?

I don’t know if you’ve ever experienced lower back pain, but you need to read this and then share it with anyone you know who has.

The medical community often tells you that lower back pain is a result of lifting something incorrectly, having poor posture, or sleeping on a bad mattress. And while some of that is true, they often fail to emphasize that it can be linked to much deeper issues in your spine. When your pain is connected to your brain, spinal cord, and the nerves that run through your spine, none of those things are going to actually take care of the problem.

Now I want you to think about that for a minute. If your car needs oil, do you cut the oil line to get rid of the symptoms or do you add the oil and take care of your engine the right way? The source of your lower back pain is what needs to be addressed. Agreed?

We’ve found that a significant number of our patients’ lower back pain can be traced back to problems in the lumbar spine (lower back vertebrae). This pain can also come from sciatica, or even disc issues, and when these nerves or the spinal cord are irritated or compressed, they can trigger a cascade of issues.

Think about this: If you ignore lower back pain, it can progress to the point where surgery is your only option. You need to understand that back surgery can be debilitating and has the potential to leave you with long-term pain and a limited quality of life. The risks are real, and the road to recovery can be long.

Other causes of lower back pain can include conditions like arthritis, muscle strains, or even kidney issues, so it’s crucial that you get checked now. We can sit down, have a conversation, and do some testing to find out if, in fact, your lower back pain is coming from your spine.

Common Causes of Lower Back Pain

  • Sciatica: Nerve pain that radiates from the lower back down the leg. This is a BIG nerve.
  • Herniated Disc: A disc in your spine slips or ruptures, irritating a nearby nerve. We can help you.
  • Degenerative Disc Disease: The breakdown of spinal discs over time, leading to pain and stiffness.
  • Spinal Stenosis: The narrowing of the spinal canal, which puts pressure on the nerves.
  • Spinal Misalignment: When your vertebrae are not properly aligned, causing nerve irritation and pain.
  • Muscle Strains: Overstretching or tearing of muscles or ligaments. Make sure you get in earlier on this one.
