A year comes to an end, and a new year starts. Does that mean anything?
It’s just a date, a coincidental point in time switching one second to the next, and by that switching a whole year.
Traditionally people are reflecting back on the last year and start planning for the next year. And that’s a very good thing. At least you try to learn from your past, notice for what you can be grateful today, and make a plan for what your future holds for you.
Life isn’t always perfect. The last year wasn’t perfect for you. But it had it’s very bright sides. And some darker ones, too. That’s what life is. The important thing is to never give up and to look for the good in everything. You’ll find it.
Doing the right thing comes from having the right state of mind in a well functioning body. The Buddha said
“All that we are is the result of what we have thought. The mind is everything. What we think we become.”
